The Road King this past summer |
My friends... I had to make a hard decision this year. I owned two motorcycles, due to the passing of my love and soulmate, and they were aging. Do I keep and maintain a ten and fifteen year old motorcycle, via
the dealership or after market shops, or do I make a trade in. Or will the local dealership even take these two on trade in? Well, they were willing to take them both and on a painful day this fall, I watched the local dealership take my Buffalo's Road King away.Yeah, they also took my soft tail but it was nothing compared to

seeing HIS bike go. Him. Another piece of him. Leaving my life. That bike never earned a name. I am not sure why. I don't know exactly how I feel about that Road King ever earning a name. He had Jenny. rigid that we two upped to Sturgis in 83 when I met him and he got the Red Whore, the 1983 Tour Glide that he loved passionately and traded in his Jenny off, and I had the Mouse a 1971 kick start Sportster, which now the Kid has. I have since had a couple of bikes which never earned names. Now, today, I have a black bike in the barn which I affectionately call the black bitch. Until she earns her appropriate title. I am sure Buffalo will be there, in spirit, to christen that slut. It was, after all, his style. He will live on.

My new ride. My ultimate Soft Tail. I would hope my Buffalo would like it. My "Road Queen" |

It can be so traumatic to give up a motorcycle. It is almost like saying goodbye to a good friend. Since you had her so long, then you must have taken real good care of her which should help with the insurance rates on the new bike. By the way, the new bike looks awesome.
