THE EVERGLADES

Tuesday morning blessed us with temperatures in the low sixties at sunrise. We waited until after 9am to take off from cousin Ronnie's place in Sarasota. We had packed up the bikes the night before. Poor Ronnie watched enviously as we packed, and even more so, as we departed. Unfortunately, his lovely wife, Barb, is in the hospital and he stayed home to await her release to come home. She's in our thoughts as I write this.

But this trip is for Buffalo and so, with the mission in mind, we departed. We booked down I-75, running 5 to 10 miles over the 70mph speed limit on the interstate and we still had cars flying past us! I told you in a previous post that people here drive fast!

Instead of staying on I-75 across "alligator alley" we ran Route 41, a little bit more southern route. We stopped at a national park center to get some pictures of the fabled beasts before heading on to Homestead, FL.

Wednesday we run the Keys!!

So you'll have crocodile-boots when you go home. Have superb ride and get yourself a beer at Sloppy Joe's when you get to Key West. At least one :)

Duval Street was insane! We stopped and had burgers and beers at Hogs Breath, bought a t-shirt and headed back to our room on the gulf coast water front. Photos to follow in my next post. Very very nice place. Key West was way too crowded for our tastes.
