Unofficial Start of Our 2012 Summer Vacation

OK, well, we weren't going to officially start doing vacation stuff until Monday, July 2nd. We figured we would hang around the pad, wash vehicles, catch up on laundry and general chores... then it happened. Saturday night we were innocently watching the tube when a damned Cracker Barrel ad came on TV! Well, that got us thinking, hmmm...breakfast ride.

Yeah, that's it, we'll just hop on the bikes, ride the fifty or so miles over to the Rootstown Cracker Barrel, have some chow and come home. That's how it started anyways. While waiting for our meal, Buffalo says, should I go get the map? Well, you can figure where this is going, eh?

By the time we were done eating, we had decided to go to Paris. We found a gray line (aka two lane blacktop) on the map south of Rootstown, Paris Road, and followed the front tires south. Somewhere along the way we got confused or missed a turn because we wound up in Robertsville. We found our way onto SR 171 to Carrolton and decided to run 322 south to 164 and try to get to Amsterdam! (No I am not making up these names, really!)

SR 164 turned out to be nearly deserted and an awesome twisty, turny made for two wheels ride. Passing through Amsterdam, then Bergholtz, Salineville and eventually into Lisbon.. really, that's the name of that town too!

So we left at 8am for breakfast and came home to dirty looks from the dog at 1:30 in the afternoon... The look on her face said, "Really, breakfast?" Now you know why there aren't any pictures!
