Check out this road...

We found an awesome road on the Thursday before Memorial weekend. We took off heading south on Route 11 and hit route 7 in Stuebenville. This is where the ride starts getting good. A sheer rock wall lines the highway on the north side while you enjoy views of the Ohio river on the south, separating Ohio from West Virginia. You catch glimpses of large tug boats pushing their cargo towards the locks. You can park at the locks and watch the boats maneuver through. But the real fun starts where we pick up route 250 in Bridgeport heading north. We ride through Cadiz, a good place to gas up and grab a bite to eat, then the highway jogs a little west as we head towards Tappan Lake. Usually at Tappan Lake we catch 151 and start working our way back east and north towards home. But Thursday I told Buffalo I wanted to check out the road that turns off on the south side of the lake. And what a treat that turned out to be!! It is called Deersville Road and it is actually an Ohio Scenic Byway! It was a windy, twisty, narrow two lane road, the kind motorcyclists dream of. Most of the way we were the only people on the road, which made it even better!! By the end of the road, Buffalo turned to me and asked, "How do you find these roads??" If you are down that way, you have GOT to check it out.
