Lake Placid July 3rd

After a fantastic day of riding, we landed in Lake Placid to bumper to bumper traffic and inched our way through town to our hotels. We were walking distance from each other, an ongoing barbeque contest and several local watering holes, which made for a great end to the day.

My lodging, Best Western of the Adirondacks, was located right across the street from the Olympic center and catty corner to the BBQ cook off.  We enjoyed some adult beverages at a nearby establishment, then made our way over for some food, music and entertainment by some BMX motorcycle riders doing some high flying jumps off of a ramp.

We spent the rest of the evening hoofing it between establishments and sharing tall tales of the road and plans as we go our separate ways on the 4th. All in all, it was great having company for the first couple legs of the trip. I took several wrong turns that Dyke was able to navigate us out of and I appreciated that.

Now it is on my way to New Hampshire for the next several days. I hope you all have a fantastic and safe Fourth of July. This is a great country with so much to see and do. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to do so, honored to have your company along for the ride.
