Dear Ed:

You probably thought you would never hear from us again. There is no way to put into words the kindness and generosity you showed to us following our little “mishap” coming down off of Mount Magazine while on our bike trip. As I wrote on my blog two nights after leaving Paris, it is exactly people like you that we have met during our many journeys around this great country of ours that keeps us mounting up and discovering America. We truly hope that you had a great trip to Alaska and that you and all of your party returned home safe, healthy and happy with many memories and a lot of great stories to share with friends and family.

Because you would not accept anything for your help that day, we wanted to share a small piece of our world with you! We call home Warren, Ohio. Warren is home to the Packard Museum, which recently held a fantastic car show that I also featured on my blog. Bill, or as his friends call him, Buffalo, runs an e-bay store upstairs in our barn where he sells nostalgic signs, among other items. And the city of Warren is home to Warren Harley Davidson, where I bought my beautiful 2005 Soft tail deluxe that now needs some sheet metal work! And so we are sending you a small piece of our corner of the state of Ohio. Unfortunately, few make this area a destination, so we may never cross paths again. Of course, should you ever have the misfortune of being here, please look us up. But just in case, please accept these modest tokens of our appreciation for your kindness and sincere warmth. Men like you are few and far between and it was an honor to have the pleasure of meeting you. You will always be a part of our 2009 bike trip stories.
